"This was a fantastic opportunity for her, it was beyond her wildest dreams. She came back more mature, more understanding, more confident and more prepared to socialise with those in a similar position. Can she go round the world with EMT?"

Katie Miller joins the third trip as she completes her solo circumnavigation of the UK

The trip followed a similar routine to trips 1 and 2 with a hearty game of water polo on the first evening with Charlotte and Ross scoring lots of the goals and Jasmine bobbing around goal-hanging.

On the second morning the crews set off and drifted down the Solent to Yarmouth once again the team at The Royal Solent Yacht Club and Yarmouth Lifeboat made us very welcome.

Ellen flew back from France specially to join the group the following morning where with the help of Solent Rib Charter and Ian the crew had a RIB trip to the needles with Ellen, who then joined the yachts as they sailed back up the Solent, before Ellen was whisked away by RIB to fly back to France that evening to fufil sponsor obligations.

On the last day of the trip Katie Miller planned to surprise everyone at the Trust at their third day BBQ. After anchoring in Alum bay, to the east of the Needle, Elektra was discovered by Ellen and the Trust kids on a tour of the needles in their rib. Sworn to secrecy, it seemed the surprise might still be intact, as far as Frank and Caroline were aware! However, Katie  was double bluffed and was instead greeted with a champagne reception, sore eyes and a sticky boat .

Katie said, "It didn't all go as planned, but the surprise was terrific. It was a great opportunity for a break and to catch up with all at the Trust before the finish on Tuesday. It made all the highs and lows of my trip worth every second!"

Katie has raised over £5000 for the Ellen MacArthur Trust.

On the last day the two yachts escorted by Katies Corribee returned to UKSA.
