Quote of the Day: The skipper doesn’t think…….He knows! The crew doesn’t think he knows either!!!
We have had another good day making sound progress towards
Galapagos. I have once again been melting down below decks doing more
Astronavigation, hey guys when you refitted the boat did you realise
you forgot to fit the A/C unit? We are just in the process of editing
your entertainment video for tomorrow, then it’s into night mode again.
Missing my Family, Fiona, Jack, Emily and Lucy, I hope they are able to
get these voyage logs. We are all getting exited now that we have
reached about half way.
What’s for dinner guys…………………..
Jon Curtis (mate)
Hey everyone we went swimming in the Pacific today again weather is
brilliant I have to keep drinking my water. We as a crew were filmed
today putting up the biggest sail on the yacht it’s called the
spinnaker other wise knowing as a kite. It was great fun, I am loving every minute of sailing, struggling a little
through the day with the heat but we are all an amazing crew so were
helping each other a lot through difficult times. Barbara and I are
mothers of the day, you don’t actually realise it but men are greedy
garbs they eat like horses. Anyway here is to tomorrow I’m not on
mother duties but guess who is ohh Sam………….. Watch out dude I’ll be
wanting pampering hehehe over and out guys I’m away to prepare dinner
for the guys. Maria (Crew)
More like away to bed, Maria has not drunk enough water today and
is a wee bit dehydrated, a short rest with plenty of water and she will
be back dancing and singing. It is really important to always be
drinking water in this heat or else you will find yourself becoming
tired and sick. We all have water bottles and they are monitored
throughout the day to ensure we are all drinking enough and the bottles
are topped up when they are almost finished. We have had another good
day on board, the shift pattern has been established and all the duties
of cleaning and collecting water samples are part of each day. We have
to stop the boat to take one of the samples; at the same time we all
take a dip to cool off, which has turned out to be the highlight of the
day. We are all looking forward now to getting to the Galapagos Islands
and to do some more exploring. Speak to you all soon.
Peter Topping (Crew Boss)
Hey dudes, we are still sailing across the sea with our skipper
Sam, matey Jon and Galley wench Peter (now comes with GI Joe stubble).
Today was a day to do new things after our daily swim in the Pacific
needed to have showers roll on…solar shower!! Does exactly what it says
on the tin, you fill with water and wait for the sun to do its thing!
Luckily it doesn’t take long in this heat, so it was on with the
shampoo (went a bit overboard with it!) quick lather and then came
rinsing OH GOD! Lesson 1 don’t use too much shampoo as it will never
rinse out, lesson 2- If you want a solar shower make sure you get in
there before the girls! Lesson 3-Get Barbara to rinse your hair as she
has a nice touch! (Ha only joking). (The solar showers were pretty good
and definitely different from the norm! Today I also attempted washing
some clothes with a bucket of salt water and some detergent, as
expected it was a total disaster I think ill stick to the good old
washing machine from now on (my white top is now blue-klutz strikes
again!)
That’s your lot for today folks! Take Care
Domestic Goddess Laura (NOT!)
Mother duty all day today, shattered……..going to bed!
Barbara
Chichester once said the best place for gipsy moth was Greenwich in
a block of concrete! I think this was a little harsh, however I do
truly believe even he would agree with me shoving this flipping
computer in a block of concrete and bunging it in the ocean! I hate computers…….5 hrs of editing!
