"This was a fantastic opportunity for her, it was beyond her wildest dreams. She came back more mature, more understanding, more confident and more prepared to socialise with those in a similar position. Can she go round the world with EMT?"

Day 5 - Woo Hoo...... Sailing again !

It was early but it was worth it !  The wind had dropped enough to go sailing and that's exactly what we did. We had the best couple of hours imaginable out on the water - an excellent way to end what has been a superb week in Crete. Thanks to John the Skipper and the Gipsy Moth IV team for a great time.  Click on 'Read more...' to read the crews final daily log.

Day 4 - Still too windy.... so time for some Archaeology

With the boat leaning over whilst still tied to the quay it was unfotunately another day with too much wind for comfortable sailing ! So after a morning of diesel engine maintenance for beginners it was time to hire a car and go exploring. John, our wonderful skipper, took us to the ancient town of Lato high up in the mountains where we explored the ruins - click 'Read more...' to read the crews thoughts in their daily logs...

Day 3 - Too windy to sail, but fun was had all the same...

We awoke to the wind howling through the rigging so unfortunately the sailing had to be postponed. Instead we headed for one of the local beaches and a swim, lunch in a Taverna and then off for a spot of Greek dancing and the obligatory shopping !  Click on 'Read more...' to read today's daily log entries from the crew.

Day 2 - Time to go sailing !

After the excitement of yesterday it's off for a leisurely sail round the bay in the general direction of the island of Spinalonga. The sun is warm and the wind is blowing 15 knots so it looks like another good day out on the water.....  Click 'Read more...' to read some of the daily logs from the Crew.

Day 1 - Sun and Fireworks

After getting to grips with the sails and string and a spot of shopping it was off for our first experience of sailing Gipsy Moth IV in the bay. Then it was time for dinner and probably the highlight of the day - watching the Greek Orthodox Easter celebrations, with fireworks and ice-cream.... a brilliant end to the first day.

The crew are all keeping a daily log - read on to find out how everyone's getting on....

Sunny in Crete...

The Trusts Gipsy Moth crew have arrived after a long day of queues and airports but it's good to be here....

Everyone has found a berth - some cosier than others (Frank!) and we've had a good rummage around to find what's what and where's where.... after a spot of breakfast it's off to stock the cupboards with food before we get on with the important bits - the safety briefing and learning what all the bits of string do !  (And there's a lot of string on Gipsy Moth !)

The weather is superb & crew morale is high - we'll stick an update here later...
