Sam, Maxine and Katie represent the Trust as Ellen recieves Legion d'Honneur

Maxine, Sam and Katie who all sailed together on a Ellen MacArthur Trust Trip represented the trust at Greenwich today where Ellen was awarded France’s highest decoration, the Légion d’Honneur by French President Nicolas Sarkozy. This was a formal recognition of the award that was bestowed upon Ellen after she set a new solo non-stop round the world record of 71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds in February 2005.

The three trust representatives met President Nicolas Sarkozy prior to the ceremony in The Old Naval College in Greenwich today.

Little Britain Challenge Cup presents The Ellen MacArthur Trust with a cheque for £41,294

The Ellen MacArthur Trust received a huge fundraising boost yesterday (18/03/08) when the Little Britain Challenge Cup (LBCC) presented us with a cheque for £41,294 raised during their 2007 sailing regatta.

The cheque was presented to Trust Manager Frank Fletcher by Peter Thompson, one of the founders of the event and the Head of Charities and Finance, and LBCC Chairman Sarah Ashworth, at the Royal Yacht Squadron, Cowes.
